Some 3054 Machine engines that are equipped with a Lucas fuel injection pump may have been assembled to the fuel pump drive gear with tamper proof set screws (1). The tamper proof set screw can be identified as a Torx screw with a centerpost and five lobes.
The 173-9774 Wrench Bit must be used on the tamper proof set screw. The tool must be used whenever the fuel injection pump is removed from the engine or whenever the fuel injection pump is reinstalled on the engine.
