交流发电机由发动机右前端的辅助设备驱动装置通过皮带驱动。 该交流发电机是一种三相、自整流充电装置，调压器是交流发电机的一部分。
调压器是一个固态电子开关。 每秒钟调压器接通和断开许多次以便控制交流发电机的激磁电流。 交流发电机的输出电压向蓄电池和电气系统中的其它部件供电，以满足它们的需要。 交流发电机的调压器的充电率不可调。
