NOTICE

Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting and repair of the machine. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.

Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Caterpillar Tools and Shop Products Guide", for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids in Caterpillar machines.

Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.

  1. Use a suitable lifting device, a hoist, and Tooling (A) to the fuel tank. Move the fuel tank into the original position, as shown.

  1. Install the fuel tank with two washers and bolts (31). Weight of the fuel tank is 75 kg (165 lb).

  1. Install bracket (29) to the machine.

  1. Install washers and four bolts (30) to bracket (29) .

  1. Install wiring assembly (28) and plastic straps (27) to bracket (29) .

  1. Install the hose and clip (26) to the fuel tank.

  1. Install washers and two bolts (25) to the bottom of the fuel tank.

  1. Install the clip, four bolts (23), and washers (24) to the fuel tank.

  1. Install bracket (22), washers (21), and four bolts (20) to the machine.

  1. Install wiring assembly (19) and plastic straps (18) to the fuel tank.

  1. Install hydraulic accumulator (17), washers (16), and four bolts to the fuel tank.

  1. Install two wires (15), washers (14), and two nuts (13) .

  1. Install oil base (12), oil filter (11), washers (10), and two bolts (9) to the machine.

  1. Install hoses (8) and (7) .

  1. Tighten clamps (6) and (5) .

  1. Install hose (4) and tighten clamp (3) .

  1. Turn ON the valves (2) and (1) .

  1. Refill the fuel tank with fuel. The capacity of the fuel tank is 150 L (40 US gal). Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, SEBU6868 for the correct procedure.

End By:

  1. Separate the steering frame lock. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Steering Frame Lock - Separate and Connect".
  2. Install the hood. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Hood - Remove and Install".
  3. Install the refrigerant condenser. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Refrigerant Condenser - Install".
  4. Install the cab. Refer to Disassembly and AssemblySENR6776, "Cab - Remove and Install".
