Hydraulic Cylinders for the Raise/Lower Frame
The hydraulic cylinders for the frame need to be phased daily. The cylinders are connected in a series. Internal leakage of oil past the pistons in the hydraulic cylinders will cause the hydraulic cylinders to become out-of-phase. This could allow different depths of tillage at each cylinder.

This Illustration shows four cylinders. Your implement could have more cylinders. |

The hydraulic cylinders are phased for uniform lifting by holding the control lever in the raised position for 20 to 30 seconds after the field cultivator is completely raised. The continued pressure and the specially designed cylinders allow a small volume of oil to bypass the piston seals. Consequently, all of the cylinders can be fully extended.

Raising the implement after each pass and holding the control lever at the end of each stroke will maintain the phase of the hydraulic cylinders.
Follow the procedure below in order to phase the hydraulic cylinders for the disc gangs:
- Raise the implement.
- Cycle the hydraulic cylinders. Hold the implement control lever open at the end of each stroke. Pause at the end of each stroke for 30 seconds in order to phase the hydraulic system.
