Installation Procedure

1. Verify that all of the components of the fan drive and belt tightener are clean and free of foreign material prior to installation.

2. Inspect all components for wear and replace the components, if necessary.

3. Position a lifting sling (4) around the belt tightener and the fan drive. Secure the lifting sling to a suitable hoist. The weight of fan drive and belt tightener is 62 kg (137 lb).

4. Position the fan drive and the belt tightener to the front housing cover. Install two bolts (6). Install two bolts and two washers (5) .

5. Install bolt (3) to the bracket for the grease fitting.

6. Inspect V-belts (2) and replace the V-belts if it is necessary. Replace the V-belts as a set only.

The V-belts are under tension from the spring. If the wrench slips while releasing the belt tension, personal injury may result. Be sure the wrench is properly engaged with the belt tightener.

7. Position a wrench on the belt tensioner and install three V-belts (2) .
