Note: The models (24 series and 28 series) can have the load check function or the ride control function. The models can NOT have both features.
The ride control function uses the following components:
- Transmission Speed Sensor
- Ride Control Switch
- Transmission Control
- Ride Control Relay
The ride control is an optional feature that is determined by the option code input. This feature is enabled when the operator places the ride control switch in the ON position or in the AUTO position. In the ON position, the ride control is always activated and the ECM energizes the ride control relay continuously. In the AUTO position, the activation of the ride control is dependent on the machine ground speed. When the transmission speed increases above approximately 700 rpm (6 mph), ride control is activated. When the transmission speed decreases below approximately 600 rpm (5.25 mph), ride control is deactivated. As ride control is activated and deactivated the ride control solenoid is energized and de-energized by the ride control relay.
