  1. Secure a suitable lifting sling around the housing for ejector cylinder (3). Secure the lifting sling to a suitable hoist. The weight of the ejector cylinder is 550 kg (1215 lb). Apply tension to the lifting strap in order to relieve some of the weight of the cylinder from the bearing caps.

  1. Remove the grease lines, if equipped. The grease lines may lead to bearing caps (2) .

  1. Remove the 4 bolts and the 2 covers on each side of bearing caps (2) .

  1. Remove the 4 bolts and 4 washers from the bearing caps. Remove bearing caps (2). Bushings are located under the bearing caps. Remove the bushings when the trunnion for the ejector cylinder is free from the bearing retainers.

  1. Start the engine. Retract the ejector cylinder. The hoist must be moved as the cylinder is retracted. Secure a second lifting sling to the ejector cylinder in order to balance the cylinder. A second lifting sling may need to be secured to the cylinder in order to better balance the cylinder.
