Description of Change: Smoke emission can be reduced in the burner system for the screeds when you install different components. The different components will improve combustion efficiency. The different components will eliminate leaks at the nozzle after the burner system is shut down. In order to perform the rework, you must replace the following items: fuel pump, fuel injector nozzles, flame ring and cone. You must install the restrictor plates and the plugs. The conversion will require 3 hours to 4 hours.

Note: Inspect all fuel spray down hoses and connections in order to prevent potential fuel leakage. If any hoses are replaced, ensure that the proper pressure rating was installed. The operating pressure rating should be 1725 kPa (250 psi).
- Remove the burner assembly and remove the blower assembly. Replace existing 102-2688 Nozzle (1) with the new 187-9608 Nozzle. Replace existing 102-2706 Flame Ring (2) with the new 191-5983 Cone.

- Replace the existing fuel pump with the 192-4302 Pump. Ensure that the pressure is set to 180 psi.
Note: See the instructions that are provided with the pump. (Install the bypass plug.)
Note: The technique for lighting is different in this system. The best results will occur if you follow the procedure below.
- Energize the glow plugs for a 10 second interval.
- Fully open the fuel valve.
- Release the glow plug switch.
