(1) Wheel planetary assembly. (2) Axle brakes (if equipped). (3) Carrier. (4) End reduction case.

The axle is used to transmit power from the propel motor to the rear wheels. The end reduction case (4) receives power from the axle propel motor. The end reduction case provides a speed reduction and a increase in torque.

The end reduction case sends power to the carrier (3). The carrier provides a second speed reduction and a second torque increase.

The carrier contains a no-spin differential that splits the torque output to each wheel. The no-spin differential allows one axle to spin faster than the carrier in turns. The ability of one axle to spin faster than the carrier aids in turning the machine. This helps maintain traction to the wheels.

Note: The axle brakes are optional equipment on the CS/CP-433 C.

Power is sent through the axles and the brakes (2) to the wheel planetary assemblies (1). The wheel planetary assemblies provide a third speed reduction and a third torque increase to the wheels.
