(1) Pump drive (2) Pulled unit pump (3) Inlet from the hydraulic tank (4) Outlet to the pulled unit control valve |
The pulled unit pump is a single-section gear pump.
Oil from the hydraulic tank (torque converter, pulled unit, and brake) flows to the pulled unit pump (2). The pump sends oil to the pulled unit control valve. The pulled unit control valve will send pump oil to the pulled unit hydraulics or to the oil cooling system for the brakes. When the pulled unit is opened, the cylinders on the pulled unit receive most of the oil. Some of the oil will go to the oil cooling system for the brakes. When the pulled unit is being closed, all the oil will go to the pulled unit. If the pulled unit is not being used, the oil flows to the oil cooling system for the brakes.
