Governor and Brake Control - Disassemble

Disassembly Procedure

Start By:

  1. Remove the governor and decelerator. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Governor and Decelerator - Remove" for the machine that is being serviced.

Note: Cleanliness is an important factor. Before the disassembly procedure, the exterior of the component should be thoroughly cleaned. This will help to prevent dirt from entering the internal mechanism.

  1. Remove bolt (2) and the washer. Remove lever (1) and the key from the shaft.

  1. Remove three bolts (3) and remove pedals (4) .

  1. Remove five springs (5).

  1. Remove cotter (6). Remove nut (8), two spacers, the washer, and the bolt. Remove link assembly (7) and the bushing. Repeat for the other link assembly.

  1. Remove four bolts (9) and spacer (11). Remove cover (10) and shaft assembly with the gasket.

  1. Position the cover and shaft assembly in a vise. Remove nut (13) and bearing (12) .

  1. Apply pressure to the top of shaft assembly (14). Release shaft assembly (14) from cover (10) .

  1. Remove two rollers (16) and spacer (15) from shaft assembly (14) .

  1. Remove two dowels (17), two springs (18), plate (19), and the spring from shaft (14) .

  1. Loosen two bolts (20) .

  1. Remove shaft assembly (21) from the housing. Remove link assembly (22) from the housing.

  1. Remove bearing (23) from the housing.

  1. Remove retaining ring (25) and washer (24). Remove shaft (26) and the bearing from the housing.

  1. Disconnect two electrical wires (27) .

  1. Remove two bolts (28) and the bracket with the sensor.

  1. Remove two bolts (29), the washers, the nuts, and sensor (30) .

  1. Remove two bolts (32) and the washers. Remove two bolts (34), four washers, and two nuts. Remove four bolts (33) and the washers. Remove two brackets (31) .

  1. Disconnect two electrical wires (36) and remove sensor (35). Loosen bolts (39). Remove two arm assemblies (37) and sensor (38) .

  1. Remove two retaining rings (41) and three washers (40). Remove shaft (42) and the bearing from the housing. Repeat this procedure for the other shaft.
