Note: Put identification marks on all hose assemblies and on all tube assemblies for installation purposes. Plug all hose assemblies and tube assemblies. This helps prevent fluid loss, and this helps to keep contaminants from entering the system.


NOTICE

Keep all parts clean from contaminants.

Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.



NOTICE

Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.

Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Caterpillar Dealer Service Tool Catalog" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Caterpillar products.

Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.

  1. Remove tube assembly (1).

  2. Disconnect hose assembly (2).

  3. Disconnect tube assemblies (3), (4), and (5).

  4. Remove filters (10) and (11).

  5. Remove bolts (6) and (7).

  6. Remove fuel filter bases (8) and (9).

Installation Procedure


NOTICE

Keep all parts clean from contaminants.

Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.

  1. Install fuel filter bases (9) and (8).

  2. Install bolts (7) and (6).

  3. Install filters (11) and (10).

  4. Connect tube assemblies (5), (4), and (3).

  5. Connect hose assembly (2).

  6. Install tube assembly (1).
