Brake Valve Assembly - Assemble
Assembly Procedure
- Install valve stem (18) with valve stem seal (21) in curved washer (20). The curved washer must be positioned on the valve stem in order so the curved washer flares away from the valve stem. Install the spacer (19) and spring (17) .

- Compress spring (17) and insert valve stem (18) in spring retainer (16). The valve stem (18) must lock in place in the key hole on spring retainer (16) .

- Position spring assembly in master cylinder plunger (15). Push the leaf on spring retainer (16) straight down with a small screwdriver. Push down until the leaf of the retainer locks on master cylinder plunger (15) .

- Install the original shims (13) and O-ring seal (14) on master cylinder flange (5). Lubricate master cylinder plunger (15) and seal (22) with oil. Insert the master cylinder plunger (15) in the master cylinder body (5) .

- Lubricate the master cylinder plunger (10) and seal (9) with oil. Insert plunger (10), piston (11) and return spring (12) in body (7). Grease the area of contact between the rod for the brake adjustment and the plunger. Install dust cover (8) .

- Position the master cylinder (5) to the booster (7). The plunger (10) in the master cylinder (5) must pass down the center of return spring (12). The return spring (12) must fit over the boss on the master cylinder. Install two bolts (6) and torque bolts (6) to 12 N·m (9.0 lb ft).

- Install the supply hose (4). Torque fittings to 25 ± 2 N·m (18.0 ± 1.0 lb ft). Install gasket (3). Install reservoir cap (2). Install the copper washer and bolt (1). Torque bolt (1) to 7.1 ± 6 N·m (63.0 ± 53.0 lb in).
