(1) Chassis Control Module (CCM). (2) Air Inlet Heater Relay. (3) Air Inlet Heater.

This fault code indicates the air inlet heater relay output circuit has a lower than normal current and may be due to an open circuit or missing relay.

  1. Visually inspect air inlet heater relay, Rear Main harness, Front Main harness and connectors (C186, C008 and C001) for cut wires, loose or separated connectors and terminals, broken or damaged parts.

Expected Result: There is damaged parts or broken parts.

    • YES, repair damaged parts as appropriate, reconnect connectors and recheck fault codes. If fault code is not active, repair is complete.

    • NO, go to Step 2.

  1. Enter Mode 7 at the Electronic Monitoring Center (EMC). Select and turn ON identification number P364 (air inlet heater relay).

Expected Result: The relay energizes when the output is switched ON and OFF.

    • YES, go to Step 7.

    • NO, go to Step 3.

  1. Disconnect air inlet heater relay connector C186 and measure resistance across terminals 1 and 2 of relay.

Expected Result: The resistance measures approximately 7.2 ohms.

    • YES, go to Step 4.

    • NO, replace air inlet heater relay and recheck fault codes. If fault code is not active, repair is complete.

  1. Check for open circuit in Front Main harness from C186-2 to chassis ground.

Expected Result: There is an open in the circuit.

    • YES, locate and repair open circuit in Front Main harness. Check fault code and if no longer active the repair is complete.

    • NO, go to Step 5.

  1. Check for open circuit in Front Main harness from C186-1 to C008-F.

Expected Result: There is an open in the circuit.

    • YES, locate and repair open circuit in Front Main harness. Check fault code and if no longer active the repair is complete.

    • NO, go to Step 6.

  1. Check for open circuit in Rear Main harness from C008-F to C002-19.

Expected Result: There is an open in the circuit.

    • YES, locate and repair open circuit in Rear Main harness. Check fault code and if no longer active the repair is complete.

    • NO, go to Step 7.

  1. Download latest control module software into all control modules.

Expected Result: The fault code is active.

    • YES, go to Step 8.

    • NO, repair is complete. Calibrate transmission and three-point hitch.

  1. Replace the Chassis Control Module (CCM).

Expected Result: The fault code is active.

    • YES, install the original CCM and repeat this troubleshooting procedure.

    • NO, go to Step 9.

  1. Install the original CCM.

Expected Result: The fault code is active.

    • YES, original CCM was faulty. Replace original CCM with new CCM. If fault code is not active, repair is complete. Download latest control module software into all modules. Calibrate transmission and three-point hitch.

    • NO, this fault code may have been caused by faulty connectors. Keep the original on the tractor. Clean all terminals on the CCM and reconnect. If fault code is not active, repair is complete. Download latest control module software into all modules. Calibrate transmission and three-point hitch.
