  1. Verify that the engine oil pump is clean and free of foreign material prior to installation.

  2. Check all of the O-ring seals and the components for wear or for damage. Replace the components, if necessary.

  3. Lubricate all of the O-ring seals lightly with the lubricant that is being sealed.

  4. Install Tool (A) and a suitable lifting device to engine oil pump (11). Secure the lifting device to a hoist. Position engine oil pump (11) and the O-ring seal for installation. Install three bolts (12) and the washers to engine oil pump (11). The weight of engine oil pump (11) is 42.5 kg (93.7 lb).

  5. Install oil pan elbow (10), the tube and inlet elbow (2) (not shown) to the front oil pan as a unit with four bolts (9) and the washers.

  6. Connect guard (4) to the alternator with nut (8) and the washer.

  7. Connect guard (4) to the alternator with nut (7) and the washer.

  8. Connect outlet elbow (6) and the guard to the engine oil pump with four bolts (5) and the washers.

  9. Connect guard (4) to the engine with one bolt (3) and the washer.

  10. Connect inlet elbow (2) to the engine oil pump with two bolts (1) and the washers.

  11. Fill the engine with engine oil to the correct level. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, SEBU7173, "Engine Oil and Filter - Change" for the correct procedure.

End By:

  1. Install the fuel transfer pump. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Fuel Transfer Pump - Install".

  2. Remove the retaining cable. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Truck Body Retaining Cable - Remove and Install".

  3. Remove the wheel chocks. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Wheel Chock (Front and Rear) - Remove and Install".
