Hydraulic System Schematic for the Transmission

(1) Transmission hydraulic controls

(2) Oil cooler

(3) Power take-off valve (if equipped)

(4) Relief valve

(5) Transmission case

(6) Screen

(7) Oil pump

(8) Oil filter

Note: Oil filter (8) is located on the right frame rail ahead of the differential case.

The transmission hydraulic system consists of screen assembly (6), pump (7), filter (8), PTO valve (3) (if equipped), relief valve (4), oil cooler (2), and transmission hydraulic controls (1). Transmission case (5) serves as the reservoir for the transmission hydraulic system.

Oil is pulled from the reservoir in transmission case (5), through screen assembly (6) and an internal passage by oil pump (7). Oil pump (7) sends pressure oil through an external line to oil filter (8) .

The oil flows from filter (8) to power take-off valve (3) (if equipped) and the internal tubes and passages that are in transmission case (5). The internal tubes and passages send the oil to transmission hydraulic controls (1) and to the main relief valve of relief valve (4) .

Oil from the main relief valve is sent through oil cooler (2) and back to relief valve (4). The flow is then divided in order to provide lubrication oil for the transmission clutches and the bearings.
