Installation Procedure

1. Clean all parts and inspect all parts. If any parts are worn or damaged, use new Caterpillar parts for replacement.

2. Install seal (3) to rear frame (2).

3. Use Tooling (B) in order to attach a suitable hoist to oscillating hitch (1). Oscillating hitch (1) has a weight of 360 kg (795 lb). Use Tooling (A), Tooling (B) and a block in order to level oscillating hitch (1) on the hoist. Slowly insert oscillating hitch (1) into rear frame (2). Make sure that the tube of oscillating hitch (1) is covered with grease.

4. Once the tube of oscillating hitch (1) is inserted into rear frame (2), remove Tooling (A) and the block. Insert oscillating hitch (1) fully into rear frame (2).

5. Use Tooling (A) in order to keep oscillating hitch (1) in an upright position.

1. Install the hitch drive shaft bearings. See Disassembly and Assembly, "Hitch Drive Shaft Bearings - Remove and Install".
