Hand Controls

Left Hand Control Unit

(1) Left Implement Joystick - This joystick controls the stick, the extendable stick, and the swing of the log loader.

(2) Switch for Quick Steering - Pressing this switch will steer the machine to the left or to the right. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Steering Control" for more information.

(3) Differential Lock - Pressing this switch will lock the differentials on each axle. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Differential Lock Control" for more information.

(4) Direction Selector Switch - Use this switch to change the direction of the machine (forward and reverse). Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Direction and Speed Control" for more information.

(5) Speed Selector Switch - Use this switch to select the gear speed of the machine. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Direction and Speed Control" for more information.

Right Hand Control Unit

(6) Right Joystick - This joystick controls the boom. This joystick also controls the grapple open/close operation.

(7) Tilt Control - This switch tilts the boom forward and backward. This switch is used only on the 574 Forwarder (If equipped).

(8) Oscillation Lock - Hold down this switch in order to lock the rear oscillation. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Oscillation Lock Control" for more information.

(9) Momentary Wiper Switch - Press this switch in order to activate the front wiper. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Window Wiper and Washer Control" for more information.

(10) Mode Switch - Press this switch in order to toggle between the working mode and the roading mode. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Engine Speed Control" for more information.

Controlling the Boom

(A) Stick OUT - Move the left joystick control forward in order to move the stick outward.

(B) Stick IN - Move the left joystick control backward in order to move the stick inward.

(C) Swing LEFT - Move the left joystick control to the left in order to swing the boom pillar (11) to the left.

(D) Swing RIGHT - Move the left joystick control to the left in order to swing the boom pillar (11) to the right.

(E) Boom DOWN - Move the right joystick control forward in order to lower the boom.

(F) Boom UP - Move the right joystick control backward in order to raise the boom.

(G) Rotator COUNTERCLOCKWISE - Move the right joystick control to the left in order to rotate the rotator counterclockwise.

(H) Rotator CLOCKWISE - Move the right joystick control to the right in order to rotate the rotator clockwise.

Right Hand Control Unit

(15) Boom Tilt FORWARD - The boom pillar can tilt only on the 574 Forwarder. Press the left side of the switch in order to tilt the boom pillar forward toward the cab (If equipped).

(16) Boom Tilt BACKWARD - The boom pillar can tilt only on the 574 Forwarder. Press the right side of the switch in order to tilt the boom pillar rearward away from the cab (If equipped).

(17) Extendable Stick EXTEND - Press the top of this button in order to telescope the stick outward.

(18) Extendable Stick RETRACT - Press the bottom of this button in order to telescope the stick inward.

(19) Grapple OPEN - Press the top of this button in order to open the grapple.

(20) Grapple CLOSE - Press the bottom of this button in order to close the grapple.
