D250E Series II and D300E Series II Articulated Trucks 3306B Engine Supplement Caterpillar

Removal Procedure

1. Open the engine hood.

2. Loosen two bolts (1) and bottom nut (2) . Pivot alternator (3) to the engine. Remove two belts (4) from the pulleys and from the fan.

3. Loosen two bolts (5) .

4. Loosen bolt (6) . Pivot the refrigerant compressor to the engine. Remove belt (7) from the pulleys.

Installation Procedure

1. Inspect all parts and clean all parts. If any parts are worn or damaged, use new Caterpillar parts for replacement.

2. Install belt (7) to the pulleys. Pivot the refrigerant compressor from the engine. Belt tension must be adjusted. See Operation and Maintenance Manual, SEBU7028 for the correct procedure.

3. Tighten bolt (6) .

4. Tighten two bolts (5) .

5. Install two belts (4) to the pulleys and to the fan. Pivot alternator (3) from the engine. Belt tension must be adjusted. See Operation and Maintenance Manual, SEBU7028 for the correct procedure.

6. Tighten two bolts (1) and bottom nut (2) to a torque of 60 ± 12 N·m (44 ± 9 lb ft) .

7. Close the engine hood.
