Installation Procedure

    Note: Cleanliness is an important factor. Before the installation procedure, all parts should be thoroughly cleaned in cleaning fluid. Allow the parts to air dry. Wiping cloths or rags should not be used to dry parts. Lint may be deposited on the parts which may cause later trouble.

  1. Check all of the O-ring seals and the components for wear or damage. Replace the components, if necessary.

  2. Lubricate all of the O-ring seals lightly with the oil that is being sealed.

  3. Use a suitable lifting sling and a hoist in order to position gear pump (1) for installation onto pump drive (6). The weight of gear pump (1) is 57 kg (125 lb).

  4. Use four nuts (7) and the washers in order to install gear pump (1) onto pump drive (6).

  5. Remove the lifting sling and the hoist.

  6. Connect hose assembly (5) to gear pump (1).

  7. Connect hose assembly (4) to gear pump (1).

  8. Connect hose assembly (3) to gear pump (1).

  9. Connect hose assembly (2) to gear pump (1).

  10. Fill the hydraulic tank with oil to the correct level. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, SEBU7173, "Hoist, Torque Converter and Brake Tank Oil - Change" for the correct procedure.

End By:

  1. Install the retaining cable. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Truck Body Retaining Cable - Remove and Install".

  2. Remove the wheel chocks. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Wheel Chock (Front and Rear) - Remove and Install".
