Installation Procedure

1. Check all of the O-ring seals and the components for wear or damage. Replace the components, if necessary.

2. Lubricate all of the O-ring seals lightly with the lubricant that is being sealed.

3. Install Tooling (A) (not shown) on axle housing (3) at positions (X). Attach Tool (B) (not shown) to Tooling (A) (not shown). Attach Tool (B) (not shown) to a hoist.

4. Position axle housing (3) and O-ring seal (5) on the axle housing assembly. The weight of axle housing (3) is 265 kg (585 lb).

5. Apply 4C-5591 Anti-Seize Compound to the threads of full nuts (4) and the face of the washers. Install 18 full nuts (4) and the hard washers. Tighten full nuts (4) to a torque of 710 ± 30 N·m (525 ± 20 lb ft).

6. Connect two tube assemblies (2) to axle housing (3). Connect two tube assemblies (1) to axle housing (3).

1. Install the service and parking brake (rear). Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, SENR1561, "Service and Parking Brake (Rear) - Install".
