Start By:

  1. Install the wheel chocks.

  1. Use Tooling (A) to lift the rear of the machine until the weight is removed from the tire and rim assembly.

  2. Use Tooling (A1) to lift the rear of the machine until the weight is removed from the tire and rim assembly. Refer to Tool Operating Manual, NEHS1303, "Lift Group (Stand - 25 Ton)" for more information on Tooling (A1).

  3. Remove ten of 12 full nuts (1) and the hard washers from the tire and rim assembly.

    Note: The remaining two full nuts and the hard washers should be left on the tire and rim assembly (180 degrees opposite of each other).

  4. Position the lift truck so that the forks are under the tire and rim assembly. Position a lifting sling around the tire and rim assembly and secure the lifting sling to the lift truck, as shown.

  5. The tire and rim assembly can also be removed by using a tire handler, as shown.

    ------ WARNING! ------

    Severe injury or death can occur if the inside tire and rim is removed completely from the wheel assembly before it can be fastened to the mast of the lift truck.

    To avoid injury or death from a crushing injury, secure the inside tire and rim to the lift truck before removal from the wheel assembly.


  6. Remove the remaining two full nuts and the hard washers from the tire and rim assembly. Remove the outer tire and rim assembly. The weight of the tire and rim assembly is 500 kg (1100 lb).

  7. Remove four bolts (4), the hard washers, and plate (3) from the wheel.

  8. Remove four bolts (4) and plate (3).

  9. Remove valve stem extension (5).

  10. Put identification on the tire and rim assembly for installation purposes. Remove ten full nuts (6) and the hard washers from the tire and rim assembly.

    ------ WARNING! ------

    Severe injury or death can occur if the inside tire and rim is removed completely from the wheel assembly before it can be fastened to the mast of the lift truck.

    To avoid injury or death from a crushing injury, secure the inside tire and rim to the lift truck before removal from the wheel assembly.


  11. Position the lift truck so that the forks are under tire and rim assembly (7). Position a lifting sling around tire and rim assembly (7) and secure the lifting sling to the lift truck, as shown.

  12. Remove the remaining two full nuts (6) and the hard washers. Remove the inner tire and rim assembly (7). The weight of inner tire and rim (7) is 500 kg (1100 lb).
