Before you operate the machine, and after the parking brake has been serviced, be sure you adjust the parking brake mechanism. Failure to do so could damage the parking brake components or prevent the parking brake from functioning correctly. |
Machine Preparation
Prepare the machine for testing by completing the procedure that is specified in the Service Manual module Testing and Adjusting, "Machine Preparation for Troubleshooting" for the machine that is being serviced.
- Block the wheels in order to keep the machine from rolling when the parking brake is disengaged.
- Connect the steering frame lock to the front and rear frames.

Adjustment Procedure
- Loosen locknut (3) down rod (4) to a length of 19.05 mm (0.7500 inch). Turn rod (4) until the rod moves out enough to totally disengage the parking brake.

- Tighten locknut (3) to rod (4) .
