Installation Procedure

1. Inspect all parts and clean all parts. If any parts are worn or damaged, use new Caterpillar parts for replacement.

2. Attach nylon lifting straps and a hoist to valve (14). Use the hoist and carefully position the valve to the machine. The weight of valve (14) is 62 kg (137 lb). Install three bolts (34) that secure valve (14) to the mounting bracket.

3. Position wire harness (31) to hydraulic line (33). Install three bolts (32), the nuts and wire clips that secure wire harness (31) to hydraulic line (33). Connect electrical connectors (29) and (30).

4. Install the O-ring seal to flange (23). Position flange (23) and hose (25) to valve (14). Install the O-ring seal to hydraulic pipe (27). Install four bolts (26) and two half clamps (28) in order to connect hydraulic pipe (27) to valve (14).

5. Install the O-ring seal to hydraulic hose (20). Position hydraulic hose (20) to valve (14). Install four bolts (24) and two half clamps (21) in order to connect hydraulic hose (20) to valve (14).

6. Install the O-ring seal to hydraulic hose (19). Position hydraulic hose (19) to flange (23) and to valve (14). Install four bolts (18) and two half clamps (22) in order to connect hydraulic hose (19) to valve (14).

7. Install the O-ring seals to hydraulic hoses (12) and (13). Connect hydraulic hoses (12) and (13) to valve (14).

8. Install the O-ring seal to hydraulic pipe (9). Install four bolts (10) and two half clamps (11) in order to connect hydraulic pipe (9) to valve (14).

9. Install cover (2) to the machine frame. Position slot (7) over bolt (3) and in front of spacer (8). The right side of the cover is symmetrical to the left side. Tighten bolts (3).

10. Install hose (5) to cover (2) and around hose bundle (6). Tighten hose clamp (4) in order to secure hose (5) to cover (2).

11. Install two bolts (1) that secure cover (2) to the machine frame.

12. Start the machine. Cycle the machine systems in order to remove air from the hoist control valve. Check the level of fluid in the hydraulic tank. Fill the tank with oil. See Operation and Maintenance Manual, SEBU7028 for the proper procedure.
