Piston Pump (Brake) - Install

Usage:

D250E II 4PS

Installation Procedure

  1. Clean all parts and inspect all parts. If any parts are worn or damaged, use new Caterpillar parts for replacement.

  2. Attach a lifting strap and a hoist to piston pump (10). The weight of the piston pump is approximately 17 kg (37 lb). Insert the pump shaft into the gearbox housing on the front, left side of the engine. Position the piston pump so that the slots in the mounting brackets straddle the tapped bolt holes. Tap the piston pump with a rubber mallet until the pump reaches a positive stop.

  3. Install two bolts (15) and the washers that secure piston pump (10) to the engine.

  4. Connect hydraulic hose (14) to the piston pump. Tighten retaining nut (13).

  5. Connect hydraulic hose (12) to the piston pump. Tighten retaining nut (11). Connect hydraulic hose (9) to the piston pump. Tighten retaining nut (8).

  6. Install bolt (4), the washers, and the nut that secures hydraulic hose (5) to hydraulic tube (6) with clamp (7). Install two reusable straps (3) that secure the hydraulic hoses.

  7. Install seven bolts (1) and hydraulic tank cover (2) to the machine.

  8. Pull the hood release lever under the engine hood. Lower the engine hood.
