Location of the two-way pilot control valve (6) Two-way pilot control valve |
Two-way pilot control valve (6) controls the pump flow to the boom and hook control valves. When valve (6) is opened, pump flow is allowed to travel to the control valves.
Pump oil enters port (A) and the oil fills chamber (5) . The force of spring (1) and the pressure in chamber (5) hold valve spool (4) closed.
When pilot signal oil enters port (C) , the oil travels through passage (2) into chamber (3) . The pressure of the pilot oil in chamber (3) forces valve spool (4) to open. This allows pump flow from port (A) to exit through port (B) . The pump oil flows from port (B) to the control valves.
Port (D) allows leakage from the spring chamber to drain to the tank.
