Removal Procedure

Start By:

1. Install the retaining cable. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Truck Body Retaining Cable - Remove and Install" for the correct procedure.

The space between the body and the frame becomes a zero clearance area when the body is lowered. Failure to install the retaining cable can result in injury or death to personnel working in this area.

Note: The pump drive shaft has been removed for photographic purposes.

1. Remove three bolts (2), the three washers, and guard (1).

2. Remove three bolts (5), the three washers, and guard (3).

3. Remove three bolts (4), the three washers, and guard (6).

4. Remove four nuts (8), the four washers, and support assembly (7).

Installation Procedure

1. Install support assembly (7), the four washers, and four nuts (8).

   Note: When nuts (8) are installed, tighten the bolts to a torque of 105 ± 20 N·m (77.4 ± 14.7 lb ft).

2. Install guard (6), the three washers, and three bolts (4).

   Note: When bolts (4) are installed, tighten the bolts to a torque of 47 ± 9 N·m (34.6 ± 6.6 lb ft).

3. Install guard (3), the three washers, and three bolts (5).

   Note: When bolts (5) are installed, tighten the bolts to a torque of 47 ± 9 N·m (34.6 ± 6.6 lb ft).

4. Install guard (1), the three washers, and three bolts (2).

   Note: When bolts (2) are installed, tighten the bolts to a torque of 105 ± 20 N·m (77.4 ± 14.7 lb ft).

End By:

1. Disconnect the retaining cable. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Truck Body Retaining Cable - Remove and Install" for the correct procedure.
