Start By:
- Install the retaining cable. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Truck Body Retaining Cable - Remove and Install" for the correct procedure.

Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids. Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Dealer Service Tool Catalog" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Cat® products. Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates. |
The space between the body and the frame becomes a zero clearance area when the body is lowered. Failure to install the retaining cable can result in injury or death to personnel working in this area. |
High hydraulic system pressure. To avoid personal injury, do not remove any hydraulic system lines, taps, or parts until all pressure has been relieved. |
- Drain oil into a suitable container. The capacity of the hoist and brake hydraulic system is approximately
1137 L (300.4 US gal) . - Disconnect hose assemblies (1) and (9).
- Remove fitting (2) and fitting assembly (10).
- Remove four bolts (6), the four washers, the split flange, and the O-ring seal. Disconnect hose assembly (7).
- Remove four bolts (4) and the four washers. Separate valve block (5) from the diverter valve of the front brake oil cooler.
