Brakes, Indicators, Gauges and Horn - Test

  1. Look for broken gauges or switches, Etc.

  1. Start the engine. Push the EMS Fault Light test switch. The fault alarm horn should sound. The fault light and the EMS panel should flash until the EMS test switch is released.

  1. Check for oil leaks around covers and hoses. Repair any leaks that are found.

  1. Look for inoperative gauges.

  1. Turn on all of the machine lights. Sound the horn.

  1. Move the machine forward and test the service brakes. If the service brakes do not function properly, see the Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Service Brakes" for information on the service brakes.

  1. Move the machine forward and test the parking brakes. If the parking brakes do not function properly, see Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Parking Brake Control" for information on the parking brake.

  1. Stop the engine.

  1. Make any needed repairs before operating the machine.
