Dust Enters the Cab

Dust Enters the Cab.    
Cause     Solution    
There is a poor seal on the cab air filter element.     Check the condition of the seal.    
The cab air filter is plugged.     Clean the cab air filter or replace the cab air filter.    
The cab air filter is damaged.     Replace the cab air filter.    
Air is leaking into the cab.     Seal air leaks.    

The Air Flow From the Fan is Low

Cause     Solution    
The cab air filter is plugged or the recirculation filter is plugged.     Clean the filters or replace the filters.    
The heater core is plugged or the evaporator core is plugged.     Clean the cores.    

The Air Conditioner Does Not Cool

Cause     Solution    
The air flow through the air conditioner condenser is restricted.     Clean the radiator screen, the radiator, the oil cooler, and the air conditioner condenser.    
The refrigerant is low.     Consult any Caterpillar dealer. (1)    
The belt for the air conditioner compressor is slipping.     Check the belt tension. If the belt tension is low, adjust the belt tension.    
The heater control is turned on.     Turn the temperature control counterclockwise for maximum cooling.
