There has been several of the 136-4524 and 136-4523 planetary drive failures and detailed information is required. This is the definition of the problem.

Solution:

It is very important that any suspect failures be reported to the factory prior to any work being performed on the machine. The following information should be reported.

1. What was the paving conditions at the time of the failure?
2. Was the machine pushing trucks?
3. Was the machine being used in a windrow application?
4. Was the machine paving mainline or was the machine being used in some other type of application?
5. Were any problems reported with the throttle control of the machine?
6. What was the pressure setting on the brake/shift manifold?
7. Did the machine have any hydraulic control problems associated with the auxiliary system?
8. Did the machine experience any hose failure prior to the suspect planetary failure?
