Usage:

Problem:

Some wheel hubs on machines that are equipped with rear steering axles that are not powered may not have been shipped from the factory with an adequate amount of wheel bearing lubrication. An insufficient amount of lubrication can cause bearing wear and result in damage to the wheel hub and the axle.

NOTE: This bulletin does not apply to machines that are equipped with a powered rear axle.

Solution:

NOTE: The six bolt wheel hub is shown in the illustration. Use the same procedure for hubs with six bolts and hubs with ten bolts.

NOTE: If you use a powered grease gun (air assisted), then allow 10 seconds between each set of 3 shots in order to allow air to escape.

Apply grease at grease fitting (B) until grease escapes at location (A). Use 5P-0960 Multipurpose Lithium Complex Grease with Molybdenum (MPGM). Repeat the procedure for the other hub.
