24H (7KK) MOTOR GRADERS
Problem:
Lock check valves are located in all circuits on a motorgrader to prevent drifting in machine functions when performing precise grading. H-Series motorgraders built prior to January 1999 had a lock check valve seat design that could leak under some conditions, resulting in drifting of implement functions on some machines. Changes have been made to the lock check seat design that significantly improves leakage characteristics.
Solution:
When implement function drifting is found on an H-Series motorgrader, verify that a line relief valve leaking does not cause the drifting. Installing a 101-0029 Plug in the relief valve cavity can isolate lock check leaking. Replace 106-3658 Valve and 6E3013 Seat on both sides of the control valve when leaking has been verified. The new lock check seat design is available from Parts under the old part number. The new seat is now marked with part number and change level. Change level will be 13 or higher.
