O-ring Seal In The 7U2724, 7U4065 And 7U9503 Check Valve Groups (Restrictor Valve) May Leak Caterpillar

Problem:

The O-ring seal in the 7U2724, 7U4065, and 7U9503 Check Valve Groups (Restrictor Valve) may leak. The 7U9503 Check Valve Group is used in the supplemental steering group on the D20D and D250D Articulated Trucks. The 7U2724 Check Valve Group is used in the front suspension groups on the D300D, D25D, D30D, D40D, and D400D Articulated Trucks. The 7U4065 Check Valve Group is used in the rear suspension group on the D30D and D40D Articulated Trucks.

Solution:

A change to the position of the O-ring seal is forthcoming. If a leak occurs in the interim, remove the insert from the restrictor valve housing. Remove the leaking O-ring seal and assemble the restrictor valve without it. Tighten the insert to 65 N ·m (50 lb ft).

NOTE: Do not remove the O-ring seal at the O-ring face seal connection. The O-ring that leaks is inside the restrictor valve.
