The existing 154-4877 Bypass Spool in the 193-0922 Filter Group needs to be replaced at PCR (or CRC repair) on certain 797, 797B, and 797F Off-Highway Trucks. The 193-0922 Filter Group is used as the Torque Converter and Transmission Filter group on the 797 and 797B Trucks. The 797F Trucks use the 193-0922 Filter Group as the transmission filter (the 797F Torque Converter Filter Group is a different design and does not apply to this issue). The former 154-4877 Bypass Spool can bypass oil around the spool due to certain stackup tolerances in the filter head. The new 5488578/">548-8578 Bypass Spool has an increased spool to bore overlap to prevent any unintended bypass issues. |

In order to allow equitable parts availability to all participating dealers, please limit your initial parts order to not exceed 20% of dealership population. This is an initial order recommendation only, and the ultimate responsibility for ordering the total number of parts needed to satisfy the program lies with the dealer.
|
At the time of the Torque Converter or Transmission rebuild/repair, replace the existing 154-4877 Bypass Spool with the new 5488578/">548-8578 Bypass Spool. The improved 5488578/">548-8578 Bypass Spool is a direct replacement for the former 154-4877. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly manual KENR8372 for additional information. |

NOTE: This is a 0.0-hour job
If there has been a previous repair, part age/hours will apply. Retain a copy of the previous repair invoice in the dealer's records for audit purposes, and specify repair date and machine hours in the "Additional Comments" section of the warranty claim.
|
Note: This program is intended to be implemented at PCR/CRC Component repair. No labor will be allowed since the repair is at PCR/CRC Component repair. Note: If it is determined that a machine has more than one affected filter group, multiple claims are allowed for a given machine serial number. When filing either the first or second claim always note if it is the Transmission Filter Group or the Torque Converter Filter Group that is being repaired. |
Handle the parts in accordance with your Warranty Bulletin on warranty parts handling. |
