PROBLEM
The existing 199-0694 Retaining Bolts for the bevel gear can come loose on certain 422F, 422F2, 427F2, 428F, 428F2, 432F, and 432F2 Backhoe Loaders. If the bolts come loose, they will cause noise in the axle. If the existing bolts come loose, they will contact the brake housing, shear and generate debris in the axle, causing failure to the axle components. |

In order to allow equitable parts availability to all participating dealers, please limit your initial parts order to not exceed 1% of dealership population. This is an initial order recommendation only, and the ultimate responsibility for ordering the total number of parts needed to satisfy the program lies with the dealer. |
ACTION REQUIRED
An SOS sample of the rear axle fluid will indicate iron in the fluid. The center section of the axle must be separated to verify that the noise is coming from the 199-0694 Retaining Bolts contacting the brake housing. Image1 and 2 illustrate examples of this failure. An image must be attached to the SIMSi claim illustrating the damage from the 199-0694 Retaining Bolts backing out. Replace the rear axle. Refer to the Disassembly and Assembly, "Rear Axle - Remove/Install", for your model, in order to replace the axle. NOTE: Please attach images to the SIMSi claim illustrating the failure. |
