This Program must be administered either before or after failure.
In either case the decision whether to apply the Program is made by the dealer. When reporting the repair, use "PS44835" as the Part Number
and "7755" as the Group Number. If administered before failure, use "56" as the Warranty Claim Description Code and "T" as the SIMS Description code.
If administered after failure, use "96" as the Warranty Claim Description Code, and "Z" as the SIMS Description Code.

The closed crankcase breather can freeze when operating in cold temperatures below 18 degrees Celsius (0 degrees Fahrenheit) on certain 236D, 242D, 257D, and 259D Skid Steer Loaders, Multi Terrain Loaders, and Compact Track Loaders. A demand fan is required for operating in temperatures below 18 degrees Celsius (0 degrees Fahrenheit).
In order to allow equitable parts availability to all participating dealers, please limit your initial parts order to not exceed 27% of dealership population. This is an initial order recommendation only, and the ultimate responsibility for ordering the total number of parts needed to satisfy the program lies with the dealer.

Handle the parts in accordance with your Warranty Bulletin on warranty parts handling.
Rework Procedure

1. To access fan motor the radiator needs to be tilted. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Radiator Tilting".
2. Before disconnecting hoses, make necessary steps to avoid spillage of hydraulic oil inside the engine compartment. Disconnect hydraulic hose assemblies (1) and the case drain hose (2). Refer to Image1.2.1.

3. Disconnect the plug from harness assembly (3). Refer to Image1.3.1.

4. Support gear motor (4) with suitable blocking. Remove bolts (5). Remove gear motor (4), the fan guard, and the fan as a unit. Refer to Image 1.4.1.

5. Remove bolt (6). Remove fan (7) and the hub. Refer to Image1.5.1.

6. Remove bolts (8). Remove gear motor (4) from the fan guard. Refer to Image1.6.1.

7. Install gear motor (4) in the reverse order of removal. Refer to the table in Image1.7.1 for bolted joint and solenoid torque values to aid in reassembly.

8. After installing the demand fan and hose assemblies, use Caterpillar ET to change the configuration for the Demand Fan "Installed".
9. Calibrate the "Minimum Fan Speed" in the machine ECM. Follow the instructions in Caterpillar ET for the correct minimum fan speeds.
10. An initial calibration of the "Engine Cooling Fan Maximum Fan Speed" is also required. Follow the instructions in Caterpillar ET for this calibration.
