ACTION REQUIRED
At the daily walk around inspect all seals to check for leaks. If they are leaking fill the joint with grease. Refer to OMM. Replacement of the Seal is recommended to be done at a tire change interval or other planned maintenance interval to minimize downtime. NOTE ? If seal is leaking at a time that is not convenient to service the machine, fill the joint with grease. Properly fix the seal when the machine is serviced at the next scheduled maintenance interval. Replace parts as described in the Disassembly and Assembly manual RENR2588. NOTE ? When installing the Seal, please ensure Seal is installed with the part number out. See attached picture for clarification. After the seal is replaced, refill the joint with proper gear oil. Do not continue to operate the machine for an extended time if the seal is out of the position. Without proper lubrication, the bearing will fail. Failures must be identified by location: lower left link seal, lower right link seal, upper right link seal, upper left link seal. This service letter allows only one claim per location per truck. Record truck and component hours and seal date codes. Refer to Parts Disposition. |
