The C-Series Backhoe Loaders are being updated beginning the first quarter of 1999. This article discusses the updates, service training videos, and service literature.
Ride Control: (Attachment) provides a smoother ride over rough roads.
Heavy Lift Boom Cylinder: (Standard) provides approximately 25% more boom lift.
Higher Horsepower: 426C now 85HP and 436C now 93HP.
New Boom Design: provides a more reliable boom that is weld repairable.
Maintenance Free Pivot on Front Axle: new bushings do not require oil.
For more detail of these and other minor changes, please contact your service representative.
The new Ride Control Attachment provides a smoother ride over rough roads. On the standard shift transmission, ride control is turned "ON" or "OFF" using a switch. On the power shift transmission, ride control is equipped with a three position switch: "ON" "OFF" "AUTOMATIC". In "AUTOMATIC" mode, ride control comes on at approximately 10 km/h (6.2 mph) and turns off at 7 km/h (4.3 mph).
The Boom Cylinder has a larger bore to provide more boom lift and better digging capability
The 426C Backhoe Loader's horsepower has increased from 80HP to 85HP. The 436C Back Loader's horsepower has increased from 85HP to 93HP.
The nose portion of the boom has been redesigned to provide a more reliable boom. The boom is now weld repairable. The previous boom had problems with the nose cracking and the inability to weld repair
Maintenance Free Pivot On Front Axle
Previous C-Series backhoe loaders had an oil reservoir to provide lubrication at the pivot on the front axle. The new axles use an permanently lubricated bushing to provide a maintenance free axle pivot.
There is a service training video on the C-Series Updates: "C-Series Backhoe Loader Ride Control and Updates," SEVN4582
All service literature will be available at or near first ship which is approximately the end of January 1999. The current literature will be updated to reflect the C-Series changes.
