Backhoe Loaders are being shipped with 126-1817 Hydraulic Filter installed. The 126-1817 Hydraulic Filter is a spin-on type filter that removes particles down to 5 microns. The 126-1817 Hydraulic Filter will insure that more of any hydraulic system contamination that may be present is removed.
This filter should be left in place until the normal hydraulic system service procedure is performed.
At the scheduled oil change, there are two options. The first option is to service 126-1817 Hydraulic Filter with 108-1153 Element. The 108-1153 Element is also a spin-on type filter that removes particles down to 15 microns. See the above referenced Service Magazine article. The second option is to service 126-1817 Hydraulic Filter with another 126-1817 Hydraulic Filter.
The use of 126-1817 Hydraulic Filter is part of the current effort to provide machines with a cleaner hydraulic system.
