Reference: Service Manual Module, SENR8554; Disassembly & Assembly, 143H & 163H Motor Graders Machine Systems; Page 4, "Conventional Duo-Cone Seals"; Page 43, "Front Wheel Spindles". This module is part of Service Manual SENR8550.

Description of Change: A new duo-cone seal group in the drive wheel group contains a Nihard metal ring in place of the former cast iron ring. This Nihard ring resists scoring and is more durable.

Adaptable To: The new 145-8032 Duo-Cone Seal Group is a direct replacement for the former 9W-6698 Duo-Cone Seal Group and is effective with 143H (1AL436) and 163H (5AK159) Motor Graders. This change is adaptable to earlier machines. Follow the procedures in the referenced service manual for disassembly and assembly instructions.
