Description of Change: New components are used in the camshaft groups in the 3516 (2PK, 54Z) Machine Engines. The new components allow pressurized engine oil to be supplied to the camshaft thrust washers. This change will help prevent the thrust washers from overheating.
Before installing the new components, two plugs (X) must be removed from the rear face of the cylinder block. See Illustration 1. Pressurized engine oil from these two locations goes through a channel in the new plates (3) to the new thrust washer assemblies (2). See Illustration 2. Longer bolts (1) are required to fasten the new plate and thrust washer assembly to the cylinder block.

Adaptable To: Illustration 2 and the Chart A identify the new camshaft group components. Chart B identifies the effectivity of the new camshaft group components. The new components, when used together, are adaptable to all earlier 3516 (2PK, 54Z) Machine Engines.
