--------------- END SUPPLEMENT ---------------
A new method is being used to install the fabric covers for the rear suspension cylinders. The new installation method will eliminate damage to the cover if the cylinder is fully extended.
Use the method that follows to install the fabric covers on the rear suspension cylinders.
NOTE: Some of the early fabric covers did not fit and could not be closed. If a fabric cover cannot be closed, or is too short, order a new 116-1948 Cover for the 768C and 772B Tractors, 769C and 773B Trucks and 771C and 775B Quarry Trucks. For the 776C Tractors and 777C Trucks, use a 116-1949 Cover.
1. With the tires on the ground and the suspension cylinders are properly charged, wrap the suspension cover around the rear suspension cylinder rod making sure the cover can be closed. Fasten the Velcro® strips together. Install (but do not tighten) the clamps.
2. The clamp for the cover on the suspension cylinder housing should be positiond as high on the housing as possible, and no lower than 25.4 mm (1.00 in) from the top of the housing.
3. Adjust the cover on the suspension cylinder rod to the dimension shown in the chart. The amount of chrome showing on the rod should be equal to Dimension A.
