New Extendable Stick Tube Assemblies Provide Better Routing Serviceability {5486}

Usage:

416B (8SG, 8ZK),
426B (5YJ),
428B (7EJ),
436B (6MJ),
438B (3KK) Backhoe Loaders

Description of Change: The extendable stick extension cylinder tube assemblies have been changed on the models listed. The new tube assemblies will provide better routing serviceability.

Adaptable To: The 416B, 426B, and 436B Backhoe Loaders will use the new 117-0454 and 117-0455 Extension Cylinder Tube Assemblies (1) and (2) as direct replacements for the 9R-9251 and 9R-9252 Extension Cylinder Tube Assemblies (3) and (4).

The 428B and 438B Backhoe Loaders will use the 117-0645 and 117-0646 Extension Cylinder Tube Assemblies as direct replacements for the 9R-9251 and 9R-9252 Extension Cylinder Tube Assemblies (3) and (4).

This change is effective with 416B (8SG5456 8ZK2070), 426B (5YJ1555), 428B (7EJ2872), 436B (6MJ650) and 438B (3KK1154) Backhoe Loaders. The new extension tube assemblies are also adaptable to all earlier machines listed.

NOTE: When retrofitting the new extension tube assemblies to earlier machines, the 9R9254 Bosses (A) must be moved to a new location on each side of the boom. Refer to Illustration 3 for the new location and dimensions for relocating the 9R9254 Bosses. Weld bosses in place using a 3 mm (.12 in) Fillet weld all around.
