New Radiator Shroud and Support Bracket Improve Service Life{7272,1351}

Usage:

CS-431B (1XF),
CP-433B (1MG),
CS-433B (4FK) Vibratory Compactors

Description of Change: A new radiator shroud and support bracket reduce the possibility of cracking the radiator shroud. The new shroud has an additional plate welded on top for increased strength. The new support bracket is a two-piece design to allow for differences in alignment between the engine and fan shroud. A new shroud mounting tube is also used with the two-piece support bracket.

Adaptable To: The part numbers and effective PINs of the new fan shroud, support components and tube are listed in the chart. The locations of the new parts are shown in Illustration 1.

Illustration 1. Location of New Components

All parts are adaptable to first production for each model listed. It is recommended to replace the shroud, mounting bracket, and tube together to minimize the possibility of cracking the radiator shroud.

When installing the new two-piece mount, adjust the vertical position of bracket (3) to achieve a spacing of 8.0 ± 1.5 mm (.32 ± .06 in) between the bottom of the bracket and the top surface of the radiator shroud. See Illustration 2.
