Usage:
D11N (4HK) Tractors;
776C (2TK),
784B (5RK) Tractors;
777C (4XJ),
785B (6HK),
789B (7EK),
793B (1HL) Trucks;
994 (9YF) Wheel Loaders
These machines all have small in-line air filter screens which require periodic maintenance. The filter screens are located in the line to the air cleaner service indicator element. The filter screens should be cleaned or replaced every time the secondary filter is serviced.
If the filter screens are not maintained, the service indicator element will not function properly. This can then result in higher engine exhaust temperatures. There are two types of filter screens depending on the type of machine. Each type is described below.
Off-highway Trucks/Tractors

Trucks are equipped with a 5L-3233 Fitting (785 Trucks) or 7W-0629 Filter Adapter Assembly (all other trucks). These fittings have built-in screens and must be cleaned or replaced. Another commonly overlooked filter screen is located inside fitting (1) welded directly onto the air cleaner. This fitting has a non-serviceable filter screen. When it becomes plugged, it can be carefully drilled out (removed).

Tractors/Wheel Loaders
The D11N Tractors and 994 Loaders have a 7M-1674 Element located in the air cleaner support assembly. The elements should also be replaced or cleaned every time the secondary filter is serviced.
