New Cam Adjustable Link Now Used With Motor Grader Rippers{6166}

Usage:

12G (61M, 3WC, 3PL),
130G (74V, 12W, 59K),
140G (72V, 13W, 5MD, 50H),
160G (4JD) Motor Graders

A new cam adjustable link is now being used on the motor grader ripper mounting. The cam is used to line up the mounting holes while installing the ripper. The former links used a screw adjustment.

The new 104-4519 Link Assembly, when used with the parts shown in the chart, is a direct replacement for the former 7T-7534 Link Assembly.

Illustration 1. Location of the new cam assembly (1) and plate (2).

Installing The Parts On A New Machine

1. Install end (A) of the 104-4519 Link Assembly (3) to the differential housing with a pin and retainer.

2. Install the 104-4523 Cam Assembly (1) in the rear bore of the link assembly.

3. Lift the link and cam assembly into position. Rotate the cam assembly within the link assembly so the bores in the cam assembly and mounting plate will be aligned.

4. Install the 9J-0090 Pin through the outside mounting plate bores and cam assembly bore.

5. Postion the cam assembly so the teeth will engage with the teeth in the plate. This will keep the cam assembly from rotating during use.

NOTE: If the cam assembly bore and mounting plate bores line up but the cam assembly teeth will not engage the teeth in the plate, rotate the cam assembly 180 degrees and try again.

6. Install the 6P-5647 Washer (4) between the cam assembly and inside mounting plate as shown in Illustration 1. (The washer will keep the cam from sliding and disengaging from the plate.)

Installing The Cam Assembly On An Earlier Machine In The Field

1. Install end (A) of the 104-4519 Link Assembly (3) to the differential housing using the existing pin and retainer.

2. Install the 104-4523 Cam Assembly (1) in the rear bore of the link assembly.

3. Lift the link and cam assembly into position. It may be necessary to rotate the cam assembly within the link assembly so the bores in the cam assembly bore and mounting plate will be aligned.

4. Install the existing 9J-0090 Pin (5) through the outside mounting plate bores and cam assembly bore.

5. Install the 6P-5647 Washer (4) between the cam assembly and inside mounting plate. (The washer will keep the cam from sliding and disengaging from the plate.)
