Sealant Replaces A Gasket In Oil Pan Groups{1302,7555}

Description of Change: Sealant is used in place of a gasket between the front and rear oil pans. See illustration for location of sealant. The oil pans have been modified to allow a better seal at the joint, but the new and former oil pan sections can be mixed.

The sealant is available for part service as 1U8846 (1.5 oz tube) or 4C5300 (10.5 oz tube Flexible Gasket Maker. The sealant directly replaces the 7E2633 Gasket in the oil pan groups shown in the chart. This is the same sealant used between the rear housing and block on the 3500 Engines in Caterpillar Off-Highway Trucks. This change is adaptable to first production.
