Description of Change: New rod assemblies replace the former rod assemblies and pistons on 785 and 789 Trucks. The one-piece rod has been in use on 776, 776B Tractors; and 777, 777B Trucks for some time.
Adaptable To: The improved 9J7776 (776, 776B, 777, 777B), 1U4651 (785), and 4T4844 (789) Rear Suspension Groups (same part numbers) are direct replacements for the former groups. The illustration shows the new parts.
The new 6E1282 Rod Assembly is a direct replacement for the former 4T4763 Piston and 4T4766 Rod Assembly in the 4T4844 Rear Suspension Group on the 789 Truck.
The new 6E1282 Rod Assembly is a direct replacement for the former 1U4044 Piston and 9T5275 Rod Assembly in the 1U4651 Rear Suspension Group on the 785 Truck.
The new 9T5507 Rod Assembly is a direct replacement for the former 9T3972 Rod Assembly and 8J8899 Piston in the 9J7776 Rear Suspension Group on 776, 776B Tractors; and 777, 777B Trucks.
NOTE: A 9T5505 Plate is required to contain the check ball in the new one-piece rod assemblies in all three groups. See illustration.
