Usage:
(1) Large bolts (3/4 in). Put 2P2506 Thread Lubricant on the bolt threads and tighten the bolts in the step sequence that follows:
1. Tighten bolts from 1 to 10 in number sequence to ... 270 ± 25 N·m (200 ± 20 lb ft)
2. Tighten bolts from 1 to 10 in number sequence to ... 470 ± 20 N·m (345 ± 15 lb ft)
3. Tighten bolts from 1 to 10 in number sequence again to ... 470 ± 20 N·m (345 ± 15 lb ft)
4. Install the rocker arms for the engine valves and the remaining (3/4 in) bolts.
5. Tighten bolts from 11 to 18 in number sequence to ... 270 ± 25 N·m (200 ± 20 lb ft)
6. Tighten bolts from 11 to 18 in number sequence to ... 450 ± 20 N·m (330 ± 15 lb ft)
7. Tighten bolts from 11 to 18 in number sequence again to ... 450 ± 20 N·m (330 ± 15 lb ft)
8. The following is the tightening procedure for the 3/8inch cylinder head bolts.
Four bolts marked X:
a. Tighten bolts marked X finger tight.
b. Tighten timing gear housing to bracket bolts with standard torque.
c. Tighten bolts marked X to ... 44 ± 7 N·m (32 ± 5 lb ft)
Bolts marked Y and Z:
a. Tighten bolts marked Z finger tight.
b. Tighten bolts marked Y to standard torque.
c. Tighten bolts marked Z to ... 44 ± 7 N·m (32 ± 5 lb ft)
Tighten the remaining 3/8 bolts (2) to ... 44 ± 7 N·m (32 ± 5 lb ft)
(2) Small bolts (3/8 in). See Step 8, above.
(3) Torque for eight studs in each cylinder head ... 35 ± 5 N·m (25.9 ± 3.7 lb ft)
(4) Height of cylinder head (new) ... 112.78 ± 0.25 mm (4.440 ± .010 in)
Minimum permissible thickness of cylinder head ... 111.51 mm (4.390 in)
